Markus Ng
I am Markus, a 22 year old undergraduate student studying accountancy in the National University of Singapore. I teach Economics (HL and SL) under IB Lounge.
I enjoy Economics because I can use the concepts learnt in helping me understand the world around me. This has allowed me to understand why different stakeholders act in various ways and the repercussions of these actions.
Economics has also taught me that there are two sides to every coin. Something that benefits one party might be non-beneficial to another. As such, I view Economics not only as a subject that I studied in IB but lessons that we can apply to our own lives.
Something that I realised in school is that interest in learning a subject is half the battle won. I was fortunate that my Junior College teacher was passionate about teaching Economics. Passion is contagious and it naturally rubbed off on me. I hope to be able to instill that same kind of interest in my students and help them see how interesting and applicable Economics is.
