Hi, I'm Nasya! I am a fresh IB graduate from St. Joseph’s Institution International and will be pursuing a double major in Computer Science and Biology at NUS.
I gained an interest in teaching from a young age by tutoring my mother in Chinese. After having more enjoyable ventures as a swimming coach and coding mentor, I was eager to tutor IB subjects after graduating from the IBDP. So far I’ve had an incredible time tutoring and seeing my students develop their knowledge and critical thinking. Though my IB experience had frustrating moments, I am very grateful to have discovered my passion for the sciences. I hope to spread the passion for STEM that my teachers gave me.
In my lessons, I put an emphasis on helping students understand the key points and foundations of topics. I keep students engaged by guiding them to connect the dots independently with critical thinking. Though I go through targeted practice questions with students to ensure they are able to apply their knowledge effectively, I encourage students to do more practice at home and provide them with the resources to do so. I welcome students to approach me with questions they are struggling with at any time.
My goal is to build students’ confidence in all areas of the subject and also help them learn how to learn independently outside of school and tuition.
