Terms of Service

These terms govern the use of IB tuition services provided by IB Lounge ("we", "us", "the centre") to parents and students ("you", "the student") in Singapore. By engaging our services you agree to the terms below.
1. Services
IB Lounge provides Specialised IB Diploma Programme tuition, delivered by tutors who have personally sat the IBDP. Services include:
- Scheduled tuition lessons (1-to-1 or small group of up to 4 students)
- Lesson notes, past-paper banks, and WhatsApp support during the week
- Monthly written progress reports
- TOK essay, EE, and university application guidance where relevant
2. Trial class
We offer a one-off paid trial class before any ongoing commitment. Trial classes are charged at the same rate as a regular lesson of the same format and type. Trial classes are:
- Charged at the standard per-lesson rate for the chosen format
- Not a subscription — you are under no obligation to continue after the trial
- Refundable only if cancelled at least 3 days before the scheduled time
3. Rates
Lessons run 1.5 hours. Rates vary by format (face-to-face or online) and by type (1-to-1 or small group, max 4). The current rate card is shared directly when you enquire; it is also the rate shown on your first invoice. Rates are reviewed annually. Changes apply only to lessons delivered after the new rate takes effect — lessons already delivered retain the price at the time they were logged.
4. Payment
- Invoices are issued on the 25th of each month for lessons scheduled in that month, and are due 4 days after issue
- Payment is by PayNow (UEN 53409257L) or UOB bank transfer. Send the transfer screenshot to hello@iblounge.org to confirm payment.
- No registration fees, printing fees, or material fees — the per-lesson price is inclusive
Overdue invoices: we will send a reminder the day after the due date. If unpaid after 14 days, we reserve the right to pause further lessons until the account is settled.
5. Rescheduling and cancellation
Our replacement policy for scheduled lessons:
- At least 3 days' notice: we reschedule at no charge within the same calendar month
- Less than 3 days' notice: the lesson is charged in full. Replacements at our discretion, subject to tutor availability
- Replacements must be scheduled within the same calendar month, or up to one week into the following month for lessons originally scheduled in the final week
- Lessons cannot be carried forward indefinitely or refunded after delivery
If IB Lounge cancels a lesson (e.g. tutor illness), we reschedule at a mutually acceptable time at no cost.
6. Group lessons
Group lessons require a minimum of 2 and maximum of 4 students to run. If enrolments fall below the minimum, we may convert the slot to 1-to-1 at the 1-to-1 rate with your agreement, or refund the forthcoming session.
7. Code of conduct
We ask students to:
- Arrive on time and prepared, with relevant materials and homework
- Communicate respectfully with tutors and other students
- Raise concerns about tutor fit directly with the centre
We ask parents to:
- Pay invoices on time
- Notify the tutor and centre of scheduling changes with 3+ days' notice
- Communicate through approved channels (WhatsApp, email)
We reserve the right to terminate the tutoring relationship if these terms are repeatedly breached.
8. Student progress
We commit to best-effort teaching but do not guarantee any specific IB grade outcome. Student progress is a function of effort, aptitude, and external factors beyond the tutor's control.
9. Intellectual property
All lesson notes, past-paper compilations, and teaching materials created by IB Lounge remain our intellectual property and are provided for the personal use of the student. Redistribution, publication, or commercial use is not permitted.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by Singapore law, our liability in any dispute is limited to the total fees paid by you to IB Lounge in the 3 months preceding the claim.
11. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are emailed to active parents at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of our services after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
